La Locanda della Quercia Calante, Italy

Join New York-based Iyengar Yoga instructors Neta Katz and Eve Holbrook for a transformative, 7 night yoga retreat at La Locanda della Quercia Calante, Italy 

Set in the fertile heart of Italy, about 45 minutes from Rome, our retreat will be held in an old farmhouse nestled in the Umbrian Castel Giorgio countryside, 18 kms from Orvieto, on the border with Tuscany.

With all modern conveniences, La Locanda della Quercia Calante is environmentally friendly, using solar energy, its own water supply, and advanced climate control. Even the electrical systems are designed so the rooms and common spaces are electromagnetic field free. 

Each guest rooms is tastefully furnished in Umbrian style with a private en suite bathroom and air conditioning. There are 15 rooms available; we will set aside 5 for single accommodations, and the rest will be shared (2 persons per room). All rooms have a private veranda or terrace overlooking the Italian gardens, which are home to oaks and other ancient plants, as well as a spring water pool.

All meals are included. The cuisine will be typical of Umbria and Tuscany, based on local products, made fresh daily, and 90% organically grown on the Locanda Della Quercia Calante farm. Meals will be vegetarian, and special diets will be accommodated (gluten or lactose-free, vegan, etc).

The yoga space is wonderfully equipped for all our Iyengar yoga needs, including ropes for all!

We will offer 2 yoga classes a day. An active morning class from 7-9am, and a restorative class from 5-6:30pm.

Between sessions, there will be time to tour the surrounding area which is rich in natural and historic beauty. You may want to explore the grounds, where you can swim or relax by the pool, enjoy a variety of restorative treatments (arranged on request), take a cooking or a language lesson!  Or you may want to venture out to the cities of Orvieto, Siena, Todi, visit Etruscan and Middle Age sites, explore Bolsena Lake and the many thermal springs in the area.

$1,900 for single accommodation

$1,550 for shared accommodations
